Reba Singing “Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire” Is All You Need To See Today!

On the ninth annual CMA Country Christmas Television Special on ABC Reba McEntire treated the audience to several of the best-loved holiday songs.

The stage was a thrilling sight, with stars twinkling above, with the effect of snow floating down around the acclaimed country artist. Brightly lit Christmas trees completed the festive season scenery.

Gorgeously dressed throughout, the country music star showcased numerous wardrobe changes and she looked simply stunning every time.

When she performed “The Christmas Song”, she was wearing a shimmering, satin floor-length gown. Her delightful, mellow song was accompanied by an excellent female piano soloist and the band.

“The Christmas Song” (commonly subtitled “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” or, as it was originally subtitled, “Merry Christmas to You”) is a classic Christmas song written in 1945 by Bob Wells and Mel Tormé.

Tormé recalled. “They started, ‘Chestnuts roasting…, Jack Frost nipping…, Yuletide carols…, Folks dressed up like Eskimos.’ Bob didn’t think he was writing a song lyric. He said he thought if he could immerse himself in winter he could cool off. Forty minutes later that song was written. I wrote all the music and some of the lyrics.”

Watch Reba’s beautiful performance for yourself and enjoy a delightful Christmas carol delivered by one of the best voice in country.
