Entertainment reporter and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, Maria Menounos, faced a frightening health journey earlier this year when she was diagnosed with Stage 2 pancreatic cancer. This diagnosis followed a previous health scare where she had a benign tumor removed from her brain. In a heartfelt interview on “Today” with Hoda Kotb, Maria shared her emotional journey, from tearful reactions with her husband to questioning God, and ultimately, to her miraculous recovery.
In the interview, Maria stated, “God granted me a miracle.” This statement reflects the sentiment found in Psalm 77:14, “You are the God who does wonders. You have made your strength known among the peoples.” Maria believes that not only was her recovery a miracle, but it has given her a new mission in life. “I feel so blessed and so grateful because I’ve been given so many miracles,” she expressed, “And so my mission is to help people listen to their bodies and learn how to listen to their bodies.”
Despite the daunting diagnosis in January, Maria is now cancer-free and credits the Lord for her recovery. She considers herself the recipient of several miracles and is dedicated to using her experiences to benefit others. Maria stated, “I’m grateful that I’m in this position. I know God made all this happen for me to be able to help other people.”
Maria’s story is a powerful testimony of faith, resilience, and gratitude. It echoes the teachings of the Bible, which encourages us to have faith in God’s plan and to use our experiences to help others. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Maria’s journey exemplifies this verse as she believes her experiences were part of God’s plan to equip her to help others.
Maria’s journey and her resolve to help others is an inspiration to all. Her story encourages us to have faith in God’s plan, even when faced with challenges, and to use our experiences to serve a greater purpose. Watch the full interview below to hear more about Maria’s incredible journey.
