It always seems cliché to say that time moves faster the older you get. For parents, that statement is all too true. One minute your baby is a baby, the next their having babies of their own.
Dutch filmmaker Frans Hofmeester decided to capture his daughter’s life on film to help slow time down just a bit. He recorded seconds of her every day from the day she was born to her 20th birthday.
As a way to watch her grow up all over again, he compiled each clip into a time-lapse video. Watch as his little girl ages twenty years in only five minutes.
It’s amazing to see the changes that occur day by day. He marks the years by indicating every time she hits another birthday with a number in the corner of the screen.
You can see her go through the many stages of her life in seconds. From first, to losing teeth, to braces, her smile never fades. There are brief moments of sadness that return quickly to joy.
Her hairstyle evolves with her progression from childhood to adolescence to young adulthood. Her looks are different with the passing years and the introduction of makeup, glasses, and new styles of clothing.
The most amazing part of the video is her eyes. They hold the same wonder at the age of one as they do at age twenty. What a beautiful tribute this man has made of his daughter’s life!
