The show’s regular cast included Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Lyle Waggoner, & Vicki Lawrence. Recently, one of the video clips from a skit, “The Therapist,” came under the limelight because of its comic sense and deadpan comedy.

The scene starts with Miss Crenshaw or Mrs. Kempley (Carol Burnett) visiting her therapist, Hoffman (Harvey Korman). Mrs. Kempley is seeking therapy for emotional issues because of her in-laws. However, the treatment does not help her much.

Therapist Hoffman does not care about her situation and is agitated by his client. He has been treating her for 7 weeks, but the patient does not show any signs of improvement. Korman’s performance is nothing less than brilliant.

When he asks Miss Crenshaw/Mrs. Kempley about her most traumatic memory, she tells him when she was 8 years old, a fat boy, who bullied her, took away her pail and shovel. Soon, the patient finds out that the therapist is the fat bully she is talking about.

Both Therapist Hoffman & his patient have a hilarious argument. According to the therapist, Miss Crenshaw/Mrs. Kempley had sold the pail and shovel for six pieces of saltwater taffy. At the same time, the patient argued that he forcefully took away her favorite toy.

In the end, Miss Crenshaw/Mrs. Kempley blackmails therapist Hoffman to give him her toy. As she succeeds in her mission, she walks out of the therapy room with pride. Finally, she finds her long-lost toy. In the end, the therapy session is a success.
