Young boys pay tribute to country legend, Johnny Cash

When people think of country music, a few names instantly come to mind. Names like Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson are common.

However, one name that most everyone recognizes is the infamous Johnny Cash. Born in a small Arkansas town and becoming famous in Nashville, Johnny Cash truly walked the line.

In this video, two very talented young men, Carson McKee and Josh Turner perform Johnny Cash’s famous “Folsom Prison Blues,” and they absolutely nail it.

With expert acoustic strumming and country twang vocals, this duo does one of the best covers of this song that’s ever been done. You can tell that they have a passion for the country classics.

Johnny Cash gained incredible fame from a fantastic concert on New Year’s Day in the San Quentin prison in California. Not only was this show great, but the crowd had a few icons in it.

Watching among him, as a prisoner, was a future country legend, Merle Haggard. While serving time for a burglary, he witnessed Johnny Cash played at his prison and credited this show with turning his life around.

It’s fantastic to see a crowd of young people that show great interest in country music roots. This cover of “Folsom Prison Blues” is one of the best ever been done.
