Virtual Choir Of Over 50 Singers Performs Stunning “Hallelujah” From Their Homes

Though we are all currently socially distanced during these troubling times, we are truly never apart in spirit. In this beautiful rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” a group of South African students comes together virtually to share that message with the world.

It all started when the Roedean School Choir in Parktown, Johannesburg decided to use their talents to spread a little joy during quarantine. And their virtual performance of “Hallelujah” is certainly warming hearts all around the globe.

The video begins with an empty concert hall populated by one lonely piano player, but he is soon joined by a powerhouse soloist in all-white broadcasting straight from her home. Soon the steps surrounding her are filled to the brim with her digitally-streamed classmates.

The resulting sound is a sonic masterpiece, as over 50 students come together to perform a virtual concert like the world has never seen before. And we’ve never felt more “together apart.”
