The young Ilya and Evelina told a profound story of love and innocence through their ice skating performance. At the young age of 10 and 8 they were ice skating prodigies.

Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ is the song for their performance. It is known for its melancholic message, and it is not a bombastic piece. They use the gracefulness and calming sound of the song to their advantage.

They don’t start with any fancy moves or tricks. Starting off slow and simple, laying on the ice they move their arms and carefully kneel on the slick surface.

Once they are on their feet the boy gives her a gentle kiss on the cheek. A simple gesture of care, friendship, and love. What follows is an incredible display of their talents.

Gliding across the ice they move with perfect synchronization. Even when they aren’t holding each other they still skate as if they were the same person. Off to the side their mentor watches them proudly.

The last note of the song strikes and they receive a cheerful applause from the audience. Two young children come out onto the ice to give them flowers. The judges then gave their honest thoughts on the performance.

Ilya and Evelina have a bright future ahead of them. They may be skating together for years. It is clear that the bond between them is unbreakable.
