I remember watching this one as a child with my grandfather. I laughed so hard. I just watched it again just today and showed my 6-year-old daughter and she laughed as hard as I did when I first saw it at her age. Beautiful and super funny.
‘The Carol Burnett Show’ was and still is an important part of our lives then and now. It’s truly fascinating. Few shows have withstood the test of time, nor have received such high praise. TIME Magazine named The Carol Burnett Show one of the “100 Best Television Shows of all Time”. In my opinion, it’s at the very top of that list.
Well, now. Let’s get down to business and laughs, shall we? In this hilarious sketch, it all seems relatively normal when Tim Conway walks in the door with well a rather large potted plant. But wait till you see the comedic exchange between Tim and the plant (played by Harvey Korman). I was crying-laughing the whole time. Classic.
Funny how old videos trigger some of the funniest memories. I recall when talking to plants was actually a thing, I had a sweet potato I was trying to root and it just wouldn’t. I finally threatened to cook it. Within a few days, it was growing like a weed. True story! (I’ll be here all week, folks!)
