“Sweet Home Alabama” Is One Of The Best Oldies Songs of the 70s

One of the best things about music is the way it can make us feel different emotions. Classic rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd knew how to do just that with their hit songs like “Simple Man,” “Free Bird,” and “Gimme Three Step.”

The legendary band was known for getting fans up on their feet and dancing the night away to their sweet, sweet tunes. No song can do that better than the iconic hit, “Sweet Home Alabama.”

Lynyrd Skynyrd filmed a promotional performance of the popular song in 1973. The band was on a sound stage without fancy lights or theatrics, just good ol’ rock and roll. Little did they know what this promotional footage would do for their career.

While Gary, Allen, and the rest of the band rocked out with tons of energy, singer Ronnie Van Zant showcased serious rockstar potential with his straightforward performance. It’s cool to be able to look back on music history with the best of the best.
