Right From The Very First Word, Scotty McCreery Owns The Audience As He Croons Conway Twitty’s Hit “Hello Darlin’”

American country music singing star, Scotty McCreery, found fame in the tenth season of the popular talent show, “American Idol”. At just 17 years old, he won the prestigious competition and his music career has sky-rocketed since.

McCreery’s debut album, entitled “Clear as Day”, was released in October 2011 and soon went platinum in the United States. He remains true to his music roots, having grown up listening to classic country music from legends like George Jones, Randy Travis, and Conway Twitty.

In his shows, he always performs covers of his boyhood idols’ hit songs, often delivered as a medley. In this video, we are treated to McCreery’s rendition of Conway Twitty’s iconic hit, “Hello Darlin’”, performed at the Grand Ole Opry in 2015.

Right from the very first word, McCreery owns the audience, expertly thrilling them with that gorgeous voice, smooth and mellow, complete with that perfect country twang.

The old classic, “Hello Darlin’”, is a deeply sentimental song wishing an old flame well going forward. The lyrics are urging her to seek the love she is looking for and yet he still holds a flame for her and is hoping she will come back to him.

If you have a weakness for a classic country love song full of unrequited love, then this is the performance for you. It is delivered flawlessly. It is almost as if the legendary crooner, Conway Twitty himself, was there with McCreery at the Grand Ole Opry that night.
