When we’re in high school, we all have big dreams and aspirations. Shevon was a gifted runner, and she chased after her goal of becoming an Olympic athlete. Successful in reaching her goal, she thought she had her future all planned out.
Shevon fell in love with Jamie, a fellow Olympic athlete. During a tragic jumping competition, he was part of, Jamie’s foot slipped, causing him to be paralyzed from the chest down. Something like this can tear people apart, but thankfully it brought Shevon and Jamie closer together.
Using her creative side, Shevon decided to try out for America’s Got Talent. She performed in front of the judges without a live audience. This didn’t stop her from bringing the four celebrities to tears.
Shevon wrote an original song for her audition and dedicated it to her now-husband, Jamie. Her emotional performance didn’t leave a dry eye in the house. The kindhearted words left her husband speechless, and the judges gave her a standing ovation.
