Pentatonix uplifts with soul with “Coffee”

The vocal powerhouses of Pentatonix have hit it out of the park with this amazing original song. We already knew they were good, but this pop hit takes it to the next level.

If you haven’t heard of Pentatonix, you must be living under a rock. This acapella group rocketed to fame after winning ‘The Sing Off’, they were suddenly everywhere with brilliant covers of popular songs.

Their amazing arrangements have won the hearts of over 18 million subscribers on Youtube, and that number is growing every day. Their original music is just as great as their covers and holiday songs.

The latest of these hits is ‘Coffee in Bed’, an emotional but upbeat, pop love song about a difficult but supportive relationship. The five vocalists work together perfectly to create this song without the use of a single instrument – just their voices!

From the deep bass notes of Matt Sallee to the vocal percussion provided by Kevin Olusola, this band has it all down. Scott Hoying takes the lead here, with help from Mitch Grassi’s high-pitched tenor that fans love so much.

It’s hard to believe that this song doesn’t include any instruments. The way it all comes together is nothing short of genius, and we can’t wait to hear even more from this groundbreaking band.
