For those of us who went to smaller schools in high school, if we had a dance team, they were often unfocused and out of sync, but the Emerald Belles proved that age is not a factor in achieving world-class performance.
The Emerald Belles was a high school dance team from Texas with a long history of distinction. And like everything in Texas, this team was supersized. Every year they had between 80 and 100 dancers.
In order to maintain their competitive edge, the team was highly selective and skilled, and that showed in this stunning and jaw-dropping routine to Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).”
As soon as the music starts, these young women set themselves apart from the competition. Their movements were crisp and clean, and they moved with perfect unity. Even from the beginning, the dance was hypnotic.
The splendor of this performance was not only in its synchrony. The moves the young women were doing were difficult, too. Their dance becomes most impressive when they do high kicks in unison.
If that were not hard enough, they transition into different positions and isolate parts of their bodies. It is no surprise that this talented team would go on to perform on America’s Got Talent.
Whether you already love dance or not, you have to watch this fantastic performance. Once you start it, you will see just how hard it is to tear your eyes away from.
