As His Raw Voice Shines In An Empty Church, We’re Filled With A Warm Feeling

To get us all in the Christmas spirit a little early, one country crooner took our favorite hymn and created something magical. Brett Eldredge’s simplistic rendition of “The First Noel” doesn’t need any production to sound amazing – just his voice will do the trick.

This holiday single was released back in 2018, but we’re still getting goosebumps today. Whether it’s the candlelit sanctuary or his silky smooth voice, this raw performance from country music’s “New Artist Of The Year” might be his best yet.

Though the video begins with Eldredge standing alone in a hushed sanctuary, he is soon joined by a slow stream of parishioners. As each visitor comes in from the cold to light their own “prayer candle,” Eldredge takes the winter chill off with his warm tone.

According to the Ilinois-native, Eldredge has a special place in his heart for Christmas music because it reminds him of holiday memories as a child. It’s no wonder then that this winter production was, in his own words, one of the “rawest performances of his life.”
