American Idol Alumni Gives “Way Maker” Phenomenal Remake

American Idol has seen a plethora of incredible performers throughout the years. Thousands of hopefuls try out in front of celebrity judges with lifelong dreams of being the next big star. At least that was the case for contestant Genevieve Linkowski.

Though Linkowski didn’t win the season she appeared on, that didn’t stop her from pursuing a future in music. Genevieve experienced a significant loss in her life when her sister unexpectedly passed away from a tragic car accident in 2019.

This event challenged Linkowski, and she wondered if she’d ever been able to sing again. Thankfully, she took her grief and pain and turned it into beautiful music. We all know how healing music can be, and her rendition of “Way Maker” is magical beyond words.

You can hear the surrender in her voice as she sings praises of worship with this classic Michael W. Smith song. It reminds us of a verse in Isaiah that reads, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.”
