After taking home the glory on the fourth season of NBC’s The Sing-Off, this group of country crooners has certainly made a name for themselves in the a cappella world. But we never would have expected them to sing this song.
Famed vocal quintet Home Free was first founded in 2000 by baritone Chris Rupp and his peers out of a shared passion for music and a cappella singing. As the group went on to dominate the competition on The Sing-Off, the world couldn’t help but fall in love with their stellar blend and chemistry.
Now, eleven studio albums later, the traditional country group puts aside their boots to honor a blues legend – Grammy award winner John Mayer. And this is a sound we’ve never heard before from the Minnesota country boys.
Whether it’s the gorgeous imagery Mayer’s lyrics invoke or Home Free’s haunting blend, we’ve got chills while watching their 2017 music video. And if this harmony infused clip isn’t enough to make you an a cappella fan, we don’t know what will.
