She Grabs A Wire Basket From The Dollar Store. What Creates Something Beyond Amazing

“The majority of people don’t have a limitless budget for decorating their home. With all the endless YouTube DIY tutorials, just about anything is possible nowadays. This video, especially, proves that you don’t have to spend a fortune to add some nice, one-of-a-kind accents to your home.

However, there is a fine line between affordable and cheap looking. We all know at least one person who loves to brag about all the DIY or re-purposed items and decorations in their home, but who is also clueless to the fact the items just look downright cheap and ugly. Don’t be that one person.

In this tutorial by Expressions by Jess, Jess shows you how to transform a plain wire hanging plant basket from your local dollar store into a decorative beaded light chandelier. All you need for this project is the plant basket and a few packs of crystal bead strands. Jess just uses cheap plastic beads, but you can easily make this look more high-end by using higher-quality beads if you like. This is very versatile because you can use any combo of beads that matches your décor.

Use three long strands of beads to attach from the top of the chain to the bottom of the chain where it connects to the basket portion. You should be able to simply attach the loops of the bead strand to the basket’s chain links. If your bead strands are too long, you can obviously trim them to fit.

Now you will attach bead strands to the support wires of the basket. Start on the circular basket frame, leading down the support wire, and onto the small support circle at the bottom. Line each support wire.

To complete this up, use small strands of about four or five beads. They don’t have to be all the same length; in fact, it looks nicer when you have two varying lengths. Attach a small strand of beads to the small circle support on the bottom of the basket. Use the wire spaces left in between where your beads currently are so you don’t overcrowd the points where your strands connect to the wire.

Your finished chandelier would look great under just about any fixture, either indoors or outdoors. You could always spray paint the wire basket before beading it if it would match better. It’s easy to see how this could be an extremely versatile idea that has endless uses – and you don’t have to spend a fortune on it either.”
