In this video, we can experience the miracle of a newborn baby recognizing her mother at their first meeting. Brenda Coelho de Souza gave birth to her daughter at the Santa Monica Hospital.
The little baby holds onto her Mom, clinging to her cheek with a tiny arm as she nuzzles into the other side of her mother’s face. Brenda is speaking gently to the little one and it really appears to soothe the baby as she hugs her mother.
Mom named her baby Ágata, who appears to kiss her mother’s cheek as the medical team watches on in awe. Brenda, an administrative assistant, said: ‘It was an incredible moment when my daughter hugged me for the first time.”
One of the most emotionally rewarding moments in a parent’s life is when their baby is born. It is such a powerful moment for Moms and Dads when they can see and hold their brand-new child for the first time.
Whereas labor is a slow and painful process, with her partner’s support a new Mom can make it through to the other end. The process results in the arrival of a tiny new human who is vulnerable and helpless. She needs her parents. And she has heard their voices for the past nine months, so she already knows them.
