‘The Carol Burnett Show’ changed comedy forever with its wild sense of humor and hilarious skits. It seemed as if no topic was off-limits in the 1970s. Carol and her incredible cast caused hysterical laughter across America with a sketch involving Carol visiting a nudist colony.
Carol and Harvey walk in the door, and Carol has her eyes closed. She opens them once she’s inside, and she gets mad because the vacation house Harvey chose is disgusting.
She yells at him because it’s a nudist colony, and Harvey says they have to stay there because he’s meeting clients. The neighbor comes by, and he’s naked, and Carol looks away from him and yelps!
He greets them and leaves. Then Harvey leaves to look around, and another person knocks, and Carol freaks out. The man asks what he should do with their bags since Carol refuses to open the door.
She tells him to slide it under the door, and he can’t, so she opens the bottom half of the door on accident, then slams it. She opens the top, and he has a hat on but no clothes. He hands her the bags as she quickly pays him.
Harvey begs Carol to get undressed and talk to his client’s wife while he closes the deal. She obliges and comes out of the bathroom with just a towel on, and Harvey pushes her out of the door. He’s about to leave to speak to his client when he hears a police whistle.
The door opens, and an officer comes in with Carol, who is now covered by a big bush. The police officer tells Harvey that the nude beach lost its license three months ago and is being raided. Carol yells at Harvey, saying, ‘I’ll never forget this day as long as I live.’ Harvey looks at Carol wrapped in the bush and replies, ‘You’re not kidding. That’s poison ivy!’ It is another hysterical sketch from Carol and her friends.
