Thankfully, we live in a day an age where science and technology come together to create miracle-like solutions to improve our lives, and doctors are consistently able to provide options for us and our loved ones.
Charlotte Keane was was born deaf and with no real explanation as to why. It was just one of those things, and it must have been a surprise for her parents to learn the news. Her mother Christy took to social media to share her emotions.
‘She never heard me tell her how much I prayed for her when she was in my belly, she never heard me welcome her into the world, she’s never heard me sing her to sleep–and the hardest to handle–she’s never heard me say ‘I love you.’
At the time, little Charlotte was far too young for the first cochlear implants that would allow her to hear, so the professionals decided to try a hearing aid instead – and what a fantastic result is achieved.
When Christy tells her daughter, she loves her and Charlotte hears those words for the first time – well, there isn’t going to be a dry eye in the house!
Christy once again took to social media to express her gratitude. Science and technology are wonderful things, aren’t they? Helping baby girls to hear for the very first time! ‘We had our miracle moment that I have been praying for when Charlotte got her hearing aids today. We didn’t think she would hear anything so this was more incredible than I can put into words!’
And she might well thank those often-unsung heroes – the doctors, who work tirelessly to provide excellent health care for our loved ones. Without their knowledge and expertise, little Charlotte might not have heard her mom speak until she was much older, and it’s so important to listen to those words as soon as possible.
