Milwaukee local meteorologist Rebecca Schuld recently returned to work after her maternity leave, but she wasn’t filming from the studio. She had a green screen set up in her basement.
When she brought her 13-week-old daughter Fiona on camera for a mic check, her producer asked if the baby would be joining Rebecca for the weather report that day.
Rebecca had no problem keeping her daughter with her on air. Milwaukee got quite the treat that evening when they saw sleepy Fiona accompanying her mom for a frigid forecast.
Rebecca remarked how Fiona was ready for the cold temperatures with her fuzzy blanket. The segment was such a hit that it went viral, getting picked up by national news and Inside Edition.
Rebecca is thrilled to be an example for young women who want careers and a family. Juggling a newborn baby and working full time is not an easy job.
She is happy to show the challenges and the rewards of being a mom and living out your dreams. Rebecca encourages young women to enter the science and technology fields.
